SUBMARINER Conference "Innovative Uses of Baltic Marine Resources in the Light of the EU Blue Growth Initiative"

We kindly invite you to take part in the SUBMARINER Conference "Innovative Uses of Baltic Marine Resources in the Light of the EU Blue Growth Initiative". The event will be held in Gdansk, Poland on 5 and 6 September 2013 under under the patronage of the Polish Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy. It will bring together high-level policy makers and representatives of companies and research institutions dealing with the use of marine resources in the Baltic Sea Region and beyond. It will be marked by the official launch of the SUBMARINER Network, a new flagship under the Priority Area “Innovation” of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR). The Network is a transnational umbrella for future activities that the SUBMARINER Roadmap identified as necessary in order to further support sustainable and innovative uses of Baltic marine resources. Confirmed key note speakers include Carla Montesi (Director, DG Mare, European Commission), Monika Stankiewicz (Executive Secretary, HELCOM), Anders Alm (Swedish Ministry for the Environment), Hartmut Euler (Head of Department, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Employment, Transport and Technology Schleswig-Holstein) and Fredrik Gröndahl (Associate Professor, KTH Royal Institute of Technology).
