ALGAE COOPERATION EVENT: A SUCCESS STORY!

The Algae Cooperation Event took place on Wednesday and Thursday of this week in Trelleborg and was quite an achievement for SUBMARINER!

Over 150 participants from the Baltic Sea Region as well as visitors from farther away places like  China, Scotland or Italy joined in for two days of exciting presentations ranging from macro to microalgae, from harvest to cultivation, and from algae muffins to biogas and biofuel; a popular poster and exhibit session complete with live music, algae chips and algae chocolate, a viking dinner, a lively panel discussion with representatives from public authorities and private companies, and a study tour of Trelleborg's algae highlights. All comments received so far from participants have been extremely positive!

We hereby extend a huge thank you to the organizers from Trelleborg, namely Ellinor Tjernstrom and Matilda Gradin for their hard work and to the SUBMARINER speakers and moderators (Jukka Seppälä, Fredrik Gröndahl, Bronwyn Cahill and Sten Björk) for their contributions to making this such a fantastic event! May all future SUBMARINER Cooperation Events be just as successful!
