UPDATE ON COMPENDIUM & INTERACTIVE MAP PROGRESS



All compendium authors will hand in their draft chapters by the End of February. They will then discuss an outline of the compendium during an authors' meeting in Copenhagen on 19 March 2012. Based on this discussion, the synthesis report shall be developed by MIG and s.Pro as a discussion paper for the next partner meeting in Klaipeda on 5–6 June 2012.
In parallel, EDA has developed the terms of reference for the development of the interactive map. A tender for identifying a subcontractor for this task is about to be run.

SUBMARINER AS A POSSIBLE EUSBSR FLAGSHIP

Selected partners have been invited to a meeting in order to discuss the possibilities of SUBMARINER to apply as a flagship project under the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. This meeting will take place back-to-back with the compendium authors' meeting in Copenhagen on 19 March 2012.

BLUE BIOTECH COOPERATION EVENT: YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED!



For our SUBMARINER Blue Biotechnology Cooperation Event in Kiel, Germany (9–10 May 2012), we are still looking for potential speakers from some of the Baltic Sea Region countries who could give an overview presentation on Blue Biotechnology activities in their respective countries, taking into account the current situation, ongoing activities and plans for further programmes. Suggestions can be sent to Jutta Wiese (KiWiZ at GEOMAR), Imke Schneemann (Norgenta) and Tommi Vollmann (s.Pro) by using the e-mail address bluebiotech-event@submariner-project.eu.

REMINDER: KLAIPEDA PARTNER MEETING 5–6 JUNE 2012



Please be reminded that the next SUBMARINER partner meeting will take place in Klaipeda, Lithuania on 5 and 6 June 2012. We are currently discussing the possibilities of linking the partner meeting to an external workshop on new innovative marine uses as a source for regional development, possibly in collaboration with the Eco4Life project.
More details regarding the agenda and practicalities will be circulated seperately in due time.
