PRINTED COMPENDIUM EXPECTED IN LATE NOVEMBER –
GET READY FOR THE CONSULTATION AND ROADMAPPING PROCESS!



roadmap_303148The first edition of the Compendium is expected to be available in late November 2012. This is the time to start the consultation and roadmapping process based on the printed Compendium and a working paper with first ideas for the Roadmap to be distributed by the LP and EPCO. The aim is to develop the concrete recommendations to be included in the Roadmap together with a broad variety of stakeholders. Feedback and additional expertise shall also be taken into consideration for the second, final edition of the Compendium to be produced towards the end of the project.
Please be aware that all project partners should develop a framework for their consultation and roadmapping process! Suggestions for each project partner's role in this process will be sent around by EPCO early next week and should be discussed with EPCO individually by 16 November 2012!

SUBMARINER FLAGSHIP APPLICATION:
CONTACT YOU NATIONAL CONTACT POINTS!



eusbsr_303148All partners who have not yet done so are reminded to contact their National Contact Points (NCP) for the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) as soon as possible (by Mid November at the latest) and ask for support letters for the application of the SUBMARINER Network to become a flagship under the EUSBSR.
The latest working draft of the revised EUSBSR Action Plan already includes a reference to the recommendations by ScanBalt and the Polish and German NCPs to include SUBMARINER as a new flagship project under PA 7.
The October draft of the Action Plan, the Polish NCP's support letter as well as the latest contact list for the EUSBSR are available for download on the project website's internal partner section.

DOCUMENTATION OF RIGA PARTNER MEETING
& UPCOMING LOLLAND PARTNER MEETING 6–8 MAY 2013



rigameeting_20098The last SUBMARINER partner meeting took place in Riga, Latvia 16–17 October 2012 and was hosted by the Environmental Development Association (EDA). The documentation of the partner meeting can be found here in the project website's internal partner section.
The next overall partner meeting will take place in Maribo, Lolland (Denmark) 6–8 May 2013 and will be combined with an external workshop on combined uses with offshore wind parks. Please mark your calendars!

FINANCIAL REPORTING: SEND IN YOUR REVISED BUDGETS!



financial_reporting_303148Budget shift templates have been sent out to the financial and project managers in all partner institutions after the Riga meeting. Please remember to send back your revised budgets to EPCO as soon as possible. The deadline was Friday, 2 November 2012. Please also inform the EPCO in case you do not want to make any budget shifts. Answers from all partners are needed in order to evaluate whether the required shifts are still covered by the Programme's 20% flexibility rule or whether the project has to apply for an official budget change.

REVIEW OF ÅLAND AQUACULTURE WEEK



aland_aquaculture_week_303148Impressions and presentations from the Åland Aquaculture Week can now be found here. The Åland Aquaculture Week was organised jointly by the projects Aquabest and SUBMARINER. It offered a platform for cooperation and networking among different stakeholders in the Baltic Sea Region‘s aquaculture industry, such as policy makers, feed manufacturers, fish and mussel farmers. Discussions focused on ways towards a sustainable development of the region‘s future aquaculture.
As a follow-up publication of the event, SUBMARINER will produce a short magazine assembling the perspectives on the potential of mussel farming in the Baltic Sea Region.

PERSPECTIVES FROM BLUE BIOTECHNOLOGY COOPERATION EVENT AVAILABLE FOR DISTRIBUTION

blue_bio_perspectives_photo_303x148The perspectives from SUBMARINER's Blue Biotechnology Cooperation Event held in Kiel, Germany in May 2012 have been published in September 2012. The contributions are based on the presentations held at the event. The perspectives are available for download here.
All partners are welcome to order printed hard copies from the EPCO for distribution in your respectives countries.
