Since early 2009, sector networks as well as numerous regions from around the Baltic Sea have jointly worked within the project EcoRegion to improve sustainable development at a regional level. The project, led by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, is a Baltic 21 Lighthouse Project as well as a flagship project of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.

On November 16th, the conference will bring together regional practitioners, sectoral experts and policy makers to:

  • Present and discuss the above findings
  • Adopt the Gdynia Declaration with recommendations for future policy actions on sustainable development
  • Promote and facilitate exchange of existing good practices in the BSR
  • Present the “Best EcoRegion Good Practice” award

On the 17th of November 2011, all conference participants are invited to join the study tour to Hel Peninsula. Here they will have the opportunity to learn from selected regional good practices concerning sustainable development.

Registration is open until October 15th, 2011. Click here for more information.
