This year's science, music, poetry and multi-media event "Nature Concert Hall" will be dedicated to the bladder wrack seaweed, Fucus vesiculosus. The event includes a variety of workshops on this species and its habitat, the Baltic Sea, led by the Nature Conservation Agency, the Latvian Institute of Aquatic Ecology, Vides Projekti and local fishermen. One of the workshops will present the practical uses and applications of this and other algae types.

SUBMARINER partner Environment Development Association will take part in the event, presenting information about another useful Baltic Sea algae: Furcellaria lumbricalis and its applications in the production of agar.
