Helsinki, Finland · 4-6 October 2011
This forum includes two consecutive events: the Conference on Competitive and Sustainable Aquaculture in Northern Europe (4-5 October) and a Workshop on Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (5-6 October).
The Conference on Competitive and Sustainable Aquaculture in Northern Europe is part of the Finnish Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM) in 2011. The goal is to provide a forum for authorities, aquaculture industry, researchers and other stakeholders for discussing the opportunities and challenges for aquaculture in Northern Europe. Moreover, the conference has the further aim of implementing the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and its flagship project on aquaculture. It is organised by the Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and financed by the NCM.
A separate Workshop on Recirculating Aquaculture Systems, also financed by the NCM and organised by the Danish Technical University (DTU), is linked to the conference.
